Thoreau explains his aim to live a simple life. Write about your goals for living. Thoreau uses details that show his goals and values.. Be sure that your details reflect your values in life as well.

My goal in life is to succeed and be all that I can be. I like a bump in the road because it only makes me stronger in the end. I like to know people are confident in my success. So if I succeed then I know i've done my best but if I don't I know i'll have to keep trying til I get it right.

What are some modern conveniences that we take for granted in our lives? Explain

Technology is one modern convenience everyone takes for granted. With technology people don't really learn anything because the technology will do it for you. From spelling to test questions, anything that has internet on it will help. So in all reality we're not learning anything.

In what ways do individuals make a difference in our society?

Individuals make a difference by proving that you don't have to be like everyone else to be a role model or be noticed. It's okay to not be popular no one is perfect but being unique is the best way to be.

How much power do formal institutions have in our society? Support your position with examples.

They have plenty of power ; for example they can rule what you do. Where you go just as well as what you wear.

In what ways do people today still struggle with tensions between individuality and conformity?

You have an option to be your own person or be someone everyone else wants you to be. In my opinion you should be yourself. Don't be someone your not you could be taking someone else's personality and that's not fair.

Yes, there is darkness within us all. Some people are a lot better at hiding it then others. There is no good without evil. The devil was once an angel but we all have a breaking point.

Why can dreamlike settings be powerful in literature and film?

The mind plays tricks. They make things that are unreal some realistic. Power words and actions someone makes plays a role in making things dreamlike. I think the state of mind can affect that.

What Can Happen If A Secret Is Kept To Long?

If a secret is kept to long, eventually all the lies and unanswered questions about the secret will become to much and the secret will slip up and who ever is behind the secret is out of luck.

Greedy Behaviors In Others

I have observed greediness in many people. Like sometimes they get greedy if you talk to their friend. Or maybe it's over food. They don't wanna share even though they have plenty enough.

Hearing Voices Journal

People hear voices in the woods because of the suspense and darkness, some times they have some things going on in life that needs to be resolved. It is like someone is trying to communicate from their past.

Why Do We Fear What We Do Not Know?

In my opinion, everyone has their own reasons for fearing the unknown. The reason I believe we fear what we do not know is because we're so used to everything being explained and having a reason for everything. I believe that we fear darkness because you never truly know what is in the dark itself. We don't fear the dark but what is really in the dark.

Gothic Series

The most important thing to me in gothic series is being able to scare without having to go through a whole process. Things that are unexpected are what I find intriguing but things like you know something's behind the door but you open it anyway. That's aggravating because nobody is that immature.

What Makes A Good Effective Speech?

To make a good-effective speech you need to appeal to people who agree with the task at hand and people who don't. If you use big words you could confuse people. Shows pros and cons. Make sure the speech will better the people.

Most Memorable Speech and Tell Why

The most memorable speech I've ever heard was off of Finding Nemo. The one that's not really a speech but Dory hits it right on key. She says "When life gets you down, you know whatchu gotta do?" Just keep swimming. Meaning when life gets hard, you have to keep going.

Values Worth Fighting For

I value my life , friends , and family so much that I'd fight for all of them. I would fight for theses things because they mean a lot to me. I still have a lot to do with my life still. I would fight for my family because they've helped me through every obstacle I've ever face. Lastly I would fight for my friends because when I need them their always there no matter what. I know I can always count on them. Theses are my main values. Even my dog is part of my family. I love him very much.

What do you think the myth makers saw in nature? Answer.

I believe that the plant represents the day when life in  America began. I also believe that the grizzlies bears represents how people don't follow rules and laws they are given and how easily they can take those privileges away. I also believe that the corn in the last short story represents how a man gave a rib for a women and also how there is a difference in the two.

Spiritual Nature In Early Americas

If I were to read a book written about nature I'd expect to read sentences talking about how animals represent lively things. I also think it'd mention how nature influences a persons body to act in a certain way. I believe that it would also mention that nature is very soothing for most people. For example, the sounds of water dripping or splashing may help people fall asleep a lot easier. The book would probably also mention that nature and Americans go hand in hand.

The Early Americans

In the early years of American history people were believed to have a spiritual connection with nature. People believed that nature influenced American people a great deal.
